AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brisbane, Australia – 24 November 2022 Seawind Catamarans, Corsair Marine and Multihull Central brought 21 boat owners together for a spectacular weekend of social racing on Moreton Bay as hosted by the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. A mixed fleet of 15 Seawind catamarans and 6 Corsair trimarans sailed in stunning conditions on Brisbane’s Moreton Bay on Friday the 18th of November for the first race of three. Consistent tacking to Hope Banks followed by a reach to St Helena beacon and finishing off with a downwind run to Lockyer light made for a spectacular sight of multihulls sailing together. Corsairs hunted down the fleet and took over very quickly. After a 2 hour race for some it was time to head back to RQYS for sundowners and paella by the water’s edge and under palm trees. Sydney, Australia – 8 February 2021 HH Catamarans has named Multihull Central as the exclusive distributor for Australia and New Zealand as the up and coming brand of high performance catamarans releasing some innovative new designs and ramps up production for their new44 and 50foot models. The first hull of the new Longreach 58 power catamaran has been built as construction ramps up and development of the high performance long range cruiser takes shape.   As the first pictures indicate the highly efficient displacement hull shape is clearly evident as are the extended reverse bow design, spray chines and bridge deck wave breaker that will help enable the boat to cruise at speeds up to 25 knots, but importantly motor very efficiently between 10-15 knots allowing long range cruising.        Vacuum bagging of the foam core bulkheads has also been progressing rapidly as the structure takes form. What have our brokers Michael and Alex been up to lately? (just prior to the Cornavirus shutdowns) Well, a container carrying 2 Corsair 760s arrived in the Multihull Central yard and we had the job of assembling them and then handing the Corsair 760R over to it’s new owner Rob Laws. The below is how we did this and also assembled the stock 760 all in a week. In this photo we have already pulled the 760R out and have the slings attached to pull the stock 760. Note the masts attached at the top of the container, everything else was in or attached to the boats like a big mechano set and two “boys” ready to get into it.
