With over 115 Seawind 1160s launched and sailing worldwide, the design has forged a reputation for its innovative layout, robust construction and simple but safe sailing systems. However the design has for a long time been overlooked as a true performance cruising catamaran. Then in 2010 Seawind acquired Corsair Marine in Vietnam, builders of the world’s most popular high performance trimarans with 30 years of experience and would eventually become the headquarters for Seawind Catamarans with the senior management team all relocating to Ho Chi Minh City. Our second SEAbbatical Summit held in Sydney was another resounding success! The aim helping professionals and business owners enrich their lives with an adventure at sea cruising onboard their own boat, before retirement. On Saturday, more than 50 people joined us at the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Pittwater, where four speakers and a panel from the Charter industry presented on subjects including Planning a voyage, Purchasing the right boat, Profiting from charter boat programs, Preparing skills and life, and Prospering upon return with an exit plan. The highlights included Jessica Watson presented on her adventures sailing around the world and Craig & Kerry Margetts who circumnavigated Australia with their children, providing incredible real life examples and stories on their adventures.
