Sydney, Australia – 1 February 2021 A 17 strong fleet of Seawind catamarans and Corsair trimarans flocked to the picturesque waters of Broken Bay and Pittwater for an epic weekend of sailing and racing in perfect conditions. Boats travelled from as far north as Yamba and as far south as Jervis Bay, providing an excellent opportunity to socialise with other boat owners and test their skills in some friendly racing in similar performing boats. The event has been held for over 20 years and continues to be a much loved regatta by boat owners. North easterly breezes between 10 to 20 knots filled the sails of the fleet as they raced in three races around Pittwater, enjoying flat waters, warm weather and idyllic winds. After the first race on Friday afternoon, over 55 crew and skippers gathered on the shores of the Basin’s beaches…

Perfect northerly winds and sunny conditions presented the fleet as they put their performance catamarans and trimarans into gear and chasing down their fellow Seawind and Corsair owners in a fun pursuit style course…
The first hull of the new Longreach 58 power catamaran has been built as construction ramps up and development of the high performance long range cruiser takes shape. As the first pictures indicate the highly efficient displacement hull shape is clearly evident as are the extended reverse bow design, spray chines and bridge deck wave breaker that will help enable the boat to cruise at speeds up to 25 knots, but importantly motor very efficiently between 10-15 knots allowing long range cruising. Vacuum bagging of the foam core bulkheads has also been progressing rapidly as the structure takes form. No balsa core is used either through the hull or bulkheads, with the superior foam core used to reduce weight and potential for rot in the future. A team of experienced boat builders are bringing the Longreach 58 to life with technology…
