MCYC is not just about Thursday night Twilight racing. We hold rallies to other ports and we support each other cruising around Australia and beyond. Our most recent rally was to Port Hacking for the Navigators Cup on the weekend of 15/16 March. Four boats from the Club – Catty Shack, Reflection, Chill Out, Sea Glass – made the trip down on Friday afternoon in a 10 to 15 knot nor-Easter and flat seas. Everyone took the opportunity to practice their spinnaker technique in perfect conditions. Sea Twist was the fifth Sydney Boat to make the trip down, coming down on Thursday night. The Cronulla Sailing Club had kindly made mooring buoys available for us. This required some rafting up but that just made socialising easier. Race day brought a moderate to fresh Nor-Easter, again on surprisingly flat seas. Our boats were entered in…
After a decent break for Christmas and January, TAGS has been back with a vengeance! The first race on February 6 was fairly light and a chance to clear out some cobwebs as Forza II and Chillout both rounded their own top mark rather than Beashel Buoy, still a sunny summer afternoon on Sydney Harbour makes up for anything. The following week was the 2025 Seawind Regatta, with the Thursday TAGS race forming heat one of the regatta, and fifteen boats lined up for the start in a 25+ knot Nor-easter (a few less brave souls such as Dream sat that one out) and had an exciting ride around our regular course, most reefed but not all and NOMA (Michael Herrman) took first place closely followed by Mintaka (Richard Fricker) and Sweet Disposition (Simon Cameron) in third. Back to the marquee at…
The Award Winning 45 foot Seawind 1370 will be at the Seawind Display Day on Saturday the 5th of April at Multihull Central in Annandale, alongside the new 39 foot Seawind 1170, showcasing the new modern design styles from the Australian owned multinational boat builder. The Seawind 1370 has been an outstanding success for the company with over ninety new boats sold following its off-plan release just a few years ago and was recently awarded Best Boat of 2025 by Cruising World and SAIL’s Top Boats. Now with production fully up and running, a new boat is launched from the Vietnam factory every three weeks allowing earlier production availability. The design features a modern new style with raked bows, flat decks and chined hulls for greater volume than in previous Seawind designs with a galley up, yet stays true to the brand’s DNA with the open plan living thanks to…
AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sydney, Australia – 17 February 2025 This week 20 multihulls entered the 2025 Sydney Multihull Regatta, involving three races up the length of beautiful Sydney Harbour with lunchtime raft ups and onshore dinners in between and plenty of socialising. Supported by Seawind Catamarans and Corsair Trimarans, the regatta was hosted by Multihull Central and the Multihull Cruising Yacht Club from their marina base in Rozelle Bay. The fleet had a full range of conditions, starting with a 25 knot north easterly on Thursday afternoon to blow out the cobwebs. Most boats had a reef in and flew around the course in record time with the fastest elapsed time by the Corsair 880, but first on corrected time going to Seawind 1000 Mintaka. Race two was hampered by rain showers and light winds with the fleet drifting around the course,…

The event will be a rally format sailing Moreton Bay on the 28th to 30th of March 2025. The programme for the event is: · Friday afternoon –…
