Outremer 45 – March 2022Many thanks to Jason Brosnahan at Multihull Central in Opua New Zealand. Because of Covid lockdowns I pretty much had to purchase Emocean sight unseen in New Zealand and then have her transported to Australia. Jason made what could have been a very stressful experience a whole lot easier by putting me in touch with the right people and by providing many hours of honest, professional and enthusiastic support. A big thanks as well to Chris Henry at Multihull Central in Australia who assisted us in getting both into and out of Brisbane Harbour. My only regret is that I was unable to share with Jason the bottle of French Champagne that I found in the fridge. Regards Andrew Bateman
Pete- Seawind 1260- June 2019I recently took delivery of my beautiful new Seawind 1260 “Pirate Pete” in Brisbane before sailing it up to the Whitsundays for charter. I couldn’t have done it without the help of the incomparable sail master “Brett Hodder” from Multihull Central who guided us through the passage and taught us the ropes (I mean sheets). The boat itself sailed effortlessly through the ocean day and night with its crew in total comfort. I couldn’t be happier with the boat and service from Multihull Central and would recommend a Seawind 1260 to anyone wanting a true sailing boat that doesn’t compromise on comfort or sailability, combining these 2 key elements in the ultimate package. “Pirate Pete” is now available for bareboat charter in the Whitsundays through “Cumberland Charter Yachts” if you’d like to “try before you buy” and will also be available on Sydney Harbour from December to March through “Charterboat Central”. Thanks again and big thumbs up to Multihull Central.
Graeme- Seawind 1160- December 2018What a great experience! Our family was facing a difficult scenario following the sudden passing of a much-loved Seawind 1160 owner, and no other family members really knew the difference between “port & starboard”! It was an emotional and daunting task we now faced in selling the boat. It was well overdue for some maintenance and we needed to sell the Seawind 1160 ASAP, to keep holding costs minimised, so we engaged the input and advice of Brent Vaughan and his team led by Brett Hodder @ Multihull Central Brent and his team were very patient in explaining what was required to obtain the best price possible in the shortest window of time. The “7 Steps to success” they have developed for the successful sale were adopted. A vital component in preparing any boat of this nature for sale is its presentation. Multihull Central prepared a detailed project plan, with cost estimates of the varying services required to ensure the best possible presentation and subsequent sales outcome. They co-ordinated and project managed each step/service provider, which included a comprehensive service of everything and make-over from end to end, or as we now know…..” aft to forward”. After the works, the boat looked brand-new! This was a key to success, as any prospective purchasers could see how great she looked. This was backed up by all the receipts for the recent works, and full survey which provided any new purchaser with peace of mind. The investment we made in preparing the boat, more than paid for itself with the ultimate outcome achieved. The boat was listed for sale, and the first inspection resulted in a sale…...in ONE DAY! The price obtained was consistent to our independent market research undertaken, and on point for both the seller & purchaser. We couldn’t have hoped for a better result end-result and we highly recommend Multihull Central and thank the team for their assistance in making what could have been a very difficult and costly process as easy as could possibly be… Thanks & Regards, Graeme de Montfort
Dave & Georgina- Seawind 1160- July 2018I basically had a pretty good experience with Multihull Central. I know Brent Vaughan from way back, and once we had made the decision to sell Nimrod, I phoned him and sought his advice. He recommended a price, and we put it on at that level. The buyer turned up about two weeks later and offered the asking price with no conditions (no sea-trial or survey), so there wasn't a lot to talk about. I had put up a few items for sale, not within the price, and he asked for the 'toys' to be thrown in. I agreed. I put quite a bit of work in myself, producing websites and after-sales support, but that was optional. http://nimrod4sale.blogspot.com/ http://nimrodmanual.blogspot.com/ I think the main contribution that MC made was the network of potential purchasers that I could never have accessed. So at the end of the day, I got a quick sale for the money I asked for. Certainly, I know a lot of people who have tried to sell their boat in other ways, and then spent months or more slowly dropping their price (thereby signalling increasing desperation), all the while paying for marina berths etc. We are pretty happy, Dave Stratton
Alec & Megan about their Seawind 1160 Lite “The Pearl” – February 2018Dear Richard Mike and Brent, I am writing to let you all know how much we are enjoying The Pearl, our Seawind 1160 Lite, that we have owned for just over 6 months. As you know this is our third Seawind, having previously owned 2 x Seawind 1000’s. The design, from top to bottom is amazing, with exceptionally functional layout and fittings, some great sailing minds have obviously been engaged. The sailing performance has exceeded my expectations, regularly sailing at 7.5kn in light conditions, and handling easily in the stronger more exciting winds, regularly touching the 10+kn. The finish also exceeds our expectations, with great attention to detail noted in some complicated shapes and junctions. We love the modern and lightweight finish. The Pearl is a great credit to you all, we look forward to many years of happy charterers and some great sailing adventures of our own. What would we change: nothing!!
Aquila 44: John & Jan – October 2017The reasons that I decided to buy the Aquila as follows: I had been considering for couple of years changing from a sail boat to a motor launch but was put off by both the cost of launches and the high fuel fuel consumption compared to a sail boat. The Aquila provides a lot of area for a 44 foot boat the equivilant of a 55 foot mono hull and was less expensive and more fuel efficient. The quality of the Aquila impressed, felt very solid, well built compared to alternative boats, particularly the stainless steel railing and the cabinetry. The layout with the spacious master cabin, the great cockpit entertaining area with the u shaped seating and opening bar galley area works brilliantly and the same applies to the huge flybridge area which has easy access and the seating layout is better than most other boats. Also the direct access from the flybridge to the bow is a very good feature when short handed. Price was an important component in my final decision and the Aquila offered great value assisted by favourable exchange rates. Good service and advice from both Australia and New Zealand agents also provided confidence that if any warranty issues are encountered they would be handled in a prompt and efficient manner. Of course there are always somethings that can be improved on but we are confident both the factory and agents will help us along the way. Overall we are very happy with our decision and are looking forward to the boat arriving in early new year.
Cherie and Eckhard with their Seawind 1160 Lite: July 2016In July 2016 I received my new Seawind 1160 Lite. The team at Multihull Central did an impressive job in preparing the catamaran for the handover. It was in all parts ready to set sail and beautifully prepared for us. The introduction was extremely competent and the handing over was very enjoyable and a great experience. The few minor issues that emerged were immediately resolved as they became visible. The professional and highly experienced handing over contributed greatly to the pleasure we have been getting from sailing our new Seawind catamaran.
Mark Rolle with his Lagoon 500Reviewed Sept 2016 - Lagoon 500 Great experience purchasing a used cruising cat Just a quick review of the services received during the purchase of a used Lagoon 500. Firstly all the staff were great and made the effort to ensure my purchase was hassle free and as enjoyable as parting with vast sums of money can be. Ok best thing about the whole deal is that nothing was over rated or over sold or over stated and if any thing was undersold. Even 3 weeks later, 500 nm travelled I have not found anything other than as it was sold....no unpleasant surprises.....and heaps of very pleasant surprises like full kit of filters ,impellers and RO membranes stashed in the lockers The pics and description supplied prior to inspection were spot on and it was a pleasure to arrive and have the boat look better than expected.....much better than I imagined in hindsight. Not often a dealer these days provides a no bullshit...strait up sale and service but that's exactly what I received from these guys and have really enjoyed the purchase as such. Honest presentation and advice Offer of free marina berth while I got sorted before leaving The path to the marina gate needs repairing by the landlord
Patrick & Archana – Seawind 1160 Resort : November 2016Seawind 1160 Resort: First in Sydney Harbour! After some initial challenges with the delivery date of our Seawind 1160 Resort, we finally received delivery on November 21st 2016. The commissioning team at Multihull Central couldn't have worked harder for us to make sure we made our charter deadlines for December 1st. Considering the boat only arrived at Multihull Central on November 23rd, it was amazing to have it up and running for charter on December 2nd 2016. Thank you Brent, Christine & John for all your help!
